Collecting cigars in Hong Kong is nowadays as common as having a wine cellar in Europe or the US. The definition of a cigar collection could be different - and so could be the angle to look at it. This morning I have been to a major maturing room where the Hong Kong cigar lovers store private cigar collection as they might not have enough facilties home. This is one part of the story, and I will report about that on wednesday.
Another aspect is a classic style cigar collection. No doubt Min Ron Nee is amongst the true collectors, and he considers his collection as one of the better ones. The fact he remains unknown helps when talking and showing his cigars as most of the big shots would never reveal personal data. In the recent past there was a (not fully authorized) article about one of the bigger collections in CA causing a big discussion within the involved circles. It is regarded as extreeeeemly bad taste to show a collection and its value, at least not in public. With regards to this matter I will not mention any other names in my blog but respect the privacy of our customers.
Here are some more gemstones from the Min Ron Nee collection:

A 1950's box of 10 Maria Guerrero Glas Tubos - of course in perfect condition. The cigars show a wonderful flavor when opening the tubes.

Extremly rare Hoyo de Monterrey Glas Jar with 50 Crystales (Coronas) in cellophane. The Jar as such is shown in the MRN book - but that is now a complete, perfect original. LCDH Hamburg keeps an emtpy one in the collection - but I must admit that I have not seen such a nice example of a full one so far.
So far for now, - stay tuned for more about Cigars and Champagne in Hong Kong. I shall return with the latest tomorrow...
Happy smoking
