Mitchell Orchant is 42 years old and has been enjoying Havana cigars since he
was 15 (!) Following a family tradition of smoking and collecting Havana
cigars, way back from his Grandfathers day.
Mitchell is managing director of La Casa del Habanos in Hamburg,C.Gars Ltd the
leading internet cigar merchant in the UK,Turmeaus Tobacconist-one of the oldest
retail cigar shops in England ( since 1817) as well as Robert Graham Ltd in
Scotland ( the oldest cigar shop in Scotland...since 1874)
His current favourite regular smokes are Partagas P2,Monte 2,Bolivar Belicosos
and Montecristo Edmundo. His favourite vintage cigars are Davidoff Chateau
series.
Mitchell's expertise is in vintage Havanas from pre Castro to present day
limited editions. He particularly specializes in buying and selling Cuban
Davidoff and Dunhill cigars and has helped many collectors world wide build up
complete vertical collections.
Hunters and Frankau, the famous UK importer of Havana cigars awarded Mitchell the
coveted "Silver Chaveta Award" in 2005 for outstanding contribution to the cigar
trade.Mitchell has travelled to Cuba many times over the last decade and has a
very good understanding of the cigar trade in general.
Married to Karyn, Mitchell lives in London and when not spending time herfing
with friends concentrates on building his Ferrari collection as well as his
Champagne collection.
Christopher Wolters, born 1965, is in fact the better looking of the two boys
and smokes cigars since 1986. Married to Jeanette since 1998 the couple raises
two children (and a French Picard Pointer called Benson Mam) and will soon move
to a small village near Hamburg/ Germany. He as a very german German has
absolutely no sense of humor he knows of - that is why he works in a profession
that serious - a purveyor of fine smoke.
Christopher is the commercial director of La Casa del Habano Hamburg. He runs
the international and local sales, - it helps he speaks a fairly understandable
English, French and Cuban Spanish. Thanks to his long experience in the trade of
Cuban cigars he knows his customers since many years. He considers most of them
as friends and his advice on building up a cigar collection is highly
appreciated - at least to some of them. He likes elegant cigars as he believes
the cigar a man smokes expresses a lot about his personality. Thus he prefers
light and fine cigars such as Quai d'Orsay Coronas, RDM Coronas de Luxe,
sometimes a Cohiba Lancero (in fact a great cigar) and every now and then a well
aged Lusitania - best from Mitchells 1985 stocks.
As in the Cuban cigar trade at comes all down to the business between the
involved PERSONS Christopher considers it as being important to maintain
extraordinary contacts to the Cuban cigar industry. Christophers strong point is
that he finds the right cigars as he somewhat seems being liked by the Cubans.
Back in 1996 he made the Partagas Salomones, now considered as being one of the
most searched after cigars ever, and recently he re-launched Bolivar Gold Medals
and Por Larrañaga Lonsdales. Nonetheless he is not a member of any Cuban party.
The translation of MRN's famous "Illustrated Encyclopaedia of post revolution
Havana cigars" into German language has been made by him - and he enjoys working
together with the author himself, a well known Hong Kong-Chinese cigar
collector. As most of Christophers Partágas Salomones found their way to Hong
Kong he is not unknown to the Far East collectors. La Casa del Habano Hamburg
will turn out as the hottest spot for highest quality Cuban cigars - that is his
aim.
